Hi all, today i ll share a fav recipe of mine which is very unique in its way, it’s  called

SPINACH BROWN RICE N DAL KHICHDI ( khichdi is an Indian dish prepared by cooking rice n lentils twpid-20150622_200519.jpgogether )

You need

1cup brown rice

1cup mixed lentils (Moongdal n split green dal)

1 onion finely chopped

Few cloves of garlic mashed

1 bunch of spinach chopped finely

2 tsp of olive oil

1tsp jeera ( cumin seeds)

Red chilli powder as per taste

Pinch of turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Soak d rice n lentils in water for about 10 to 15 mins

Heat oil in a pan, add jeera, onions, garlic n sauté for 3 to 4 min till browned

Add all d masala n sauté  again for 3 to 4 min till u get a nice aroma

Then add d rice n lentils after draining d water n sauté again for 5 mins

Lastly add d spinach n sauté for 2 min n then add 4 cups of water n let it cook for 15 min

U can add more water if u want a thinner consistency

Wen it’s done take it off d gas n Garnish it with a little virgin olive oil n mint leaves n

Voila your Brown rice khichdi is ready
